Receipt Lane / Chat bot

Receipt tools in your chat workflow — planned

Concept still life of papers gathered in a tray beside a folder holding a spreadsheet.
Concept illustration — planned workflow.

A chat bot is a planned shortcut for sending a receipt into the same workspace. No messaging app has been chosen.

The problem

Someone away from a desk may want to drop a photo into a conversation and later find it with their other receipts. The bot would be a shortcut, not a second set of books.

Inputs

  • Planned: a file you choose to send in a conversation that you have linked to your own workspace.
  • Not chosen: the chat product. Naming a platform here would be a guess.
  • Not published: file size, image types, or whether a chat message without a file would be stored.

Planned process

  1. Link a chat identity to the same account that owns the web workspace. That link does not exist yet.
  2. Send a supported file. A planned reply would say whether it was received, not whether every field is correct.
  3. Review and edit the record on the web. The web workspace is the place for confirmation and export. The bot would not be required in order to use the product.

Output

A bot would not produce a separate ledger. The intended output remains the shared receipt list and, later, the spreadsheet plus original files shown in the sample. The sample was not created by a bot.

Limits

  • No platform is integrated. There is no bot to message.
  • A bot would not approve expenses, pay them, or give tax advice.
  • Decoding a code on a receipt would not mean the purchase was verified.

Failure

There is no bot session to time out. When a channel exists, an unreadable file should remain attached to a visible failure instead of a silent success. This page cannot demonstrate that, and there is no operator on call.

Example

A useful future exchange is short: send a file, receive a received-or-needs-attention note, then open the web record before anything is treated as confirmed. Until that exists, prepare files with the guide and compare them with the synthetic export.

FAQ and privacy

Connecting a chat app would be optional and explicit. This page does not load a chat widget, does not ask you to sign in with a chat provider, and does not take a phone number. Platform-specific data terms will be written only when a platform is actually selected.

What to do next

Use the sample and the guide. Do not wait on a bot to organize receipts you already have.
